We Love: 2 Knoyle Road Open House

In a earlier post we mentioned that The Brighton Festival has come to town, bringing naughtiness, music, ladyboys, comedy and plenty of art. One of the unique parts of the festival is the Open houses that spring up all over Brighton and Hove and not wanting to miss a trick we headed on down to our local Open house just on the outskirts of town, 2 Knoyle Road.

The house is full of art from screen printing, ceramics, textiles to jewellery and is brought to you by 5 sisters exhibiting art from inspirational artists and craftspeople from Brighton and beyond.

With different art spread around the house, and the chance to 'shop' in a different surrounding was such an eye opener. There was even cake to be eaten.

After debating whether to purchase a new print for the hall, and admiring the handmade jewellery we eventually left empty handed, but with a new insight into how the Open Houses work. I urge you to find one local to you and pop down throughout the month of may.

Knoyle House is open every weekend in May, but to find others in your area head on over here

Thanks for having us ladies.

We Love: Brighton Festival 2013

brighton festival

Every year the city opens it's doors, and welcomes everyone to join in with the annual Brighton Festival. It runs through the month of May and takes over the whole of Brighton with performances, workshops, concerts, debates and exhibitions. There is always something for everybody and is a great way to get involved with something great.

One of our favourite things to do during the festival is visiting the Artist Open Houses
It's a great way to see amazing art by local artists plus some truly beautiful houses too.
There are various trails around Brighton with Fiveways and Beyond the Level top of our list
A couple of our favourites are ‘The Yellow House at 89 Waldegrave Road,
‘Milton House’ at 4 Park View Terrace and ‘Nine by Nine’ at 9 Park View Terrace.

There is SO much to see and do throughout the month, and to kick it off is the Children's parade this Saturday 4th May.
