The next place to head to would be towards the river and over the bridge, you will be met by cobbled streets, boutique cafes and antique stores galore.

We Love: Lewes part 1

To continue our We Love series, we are hopping over to the beautiful town of Lewes. Situated a short drive from Brighton's town centre, in the middle of the Sussex Downs.

Shopping in Lewes is a pleasure. Start at the castle and work your way down towards the river

There are many beautiful book stores along the High Street including, Bow Windows. They stock old and fine books with all manner of titles from early leather bound volumes to modern first editions. You have to pop in for a browse.

Situated a few doors down is the gorgeous Paul Clark. There are 2 shops - one selling menswear (great for present shopping) and the other selling beautiful clothes, bags, accessories and not forgetting Allium B's current collection.

Having covered, art, clothes and books it's time to follow the road down to Flint. With homewares sourced from around the world and accessories to die for, we are sure you won't leave empty handed.

We love: Bills

SONY DSC

Being based in Brighton we are very lucky to have Bills right on our doorstep, and we are even luckier to of known Bills from the very beginning, which is nestled in the heart of the sleepy village of Lewes.  Formerly a produce store, selling organic and local produce come bustling cafe, which in turn has seen it blossom into a romantic dinner venue. Over the last few years Bills has exploded in popularity with their unusual menu and freshly prepared food, and has opened up venues across Sussex and now in central London.

We headed down to the Lewes branch around lunchtime, and arrived just in time before the usual lunchtime queue kicked in. I seem to get drawn back every time to their breakfast menu. Forget the greasy kind, instead you will get a fresh, original taste sensation (yes I am aware I just said taste sensation, but it is that good) I just can't help it, but I would most definitely recommend to anyone.

They have a compact menu to suit all tastes, so if you want to pop in for dinner, a quick coffee, a business meeting or in fact a quick grocery run then head on to Bills.
