We Love: The British Museum

BM ceiling SONY DSC

On a rainy gloomy morning in London, we jumped the puddles and struggled with our umbrellas on a short stroll from our base for the night in Soho. I had always wanted to visit the British museum, but didn't really know what to expect. After entering through the large iron gates, and looking on in amazement at the 19th century master piece, we climbed the steps and got carried in by the crowds to start our adventure. Upon entering you are greeted by the 'Great Court' a magnificent 2 acre space, enclosed by a spectacular glass roof with the world-famous Reading Room at its centre. (It’s definitely a WOW moment)
We just stopped and stared for what seemed like hours, snapped away with the camera, and finally peeled ourselves away to explore the Museum. There is plenty to keep yourselves and the kids busy, with different tours, exhibitions and areas to explore from all over the world and dating back many centuries. There is no doubt it will keep you occupied all.day.long.
