Places we love: Harlow Carr

Last weekend whilst visiting the Mother Country (Yorkshire), we discovered a great place for a family day out – Harlow Carr just on the outskirts of Harrogate.

On one of the few sunny days this summer and after a busy week – 3 generations of Allium B, headed out for the day at Harlow Carr. It’s rare to find somewhere that entertains everyone from a 3 year old to a 65 year old, but Harlow Carr does.
Alice and Tom loved the treasure hunt (taking you around the world in plants),

the fairy circle (yes – she does have a direct line to Father Christmas),

the tree house & climbing wall,

the giant garden games

and just running around.

I loved the ideas and the design of the place
Allium’s drying in the potting shed,

Bright blue walls

Shelves of Geraniums

beautiful pots

And spheres

And not forgetting the cakes at Betty’s

Grandad Al loved pottering around the greenhouse.
Lazing by the lake
And watching the bees
It was a great day out – and best of all we got to have lunch and icecream at Betty’s
